The Indian Premier League (IPL)'s most expensive foreign player and Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has been banned from bowling in the tournament.

Cricket Australia has banned Cameron Green from bowling in the IPL, after which questions have been raised in the Indian media about the most expensive cricketer not being allowed to bowl.

Cameron Green was bought by the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for 252 million Indian rupees. Cameron Green is the third and most expensive overseas player in the IPL overall, but he did not bowl in the match against Mumbai Indians for KKR.

After the defeat to KKR in a high-scoring match, everyone noted Cameron Green's absence from bowling, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said when asked about Cameron Green, "Ask Cricket Australia."
