India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in the group match of the ICC T20 World Cup and qualified for the Super Eight stage.
In the match played at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and invited India to bat first. The captains of Pakistan and India cricket teams did not shake hands at the time of the toss.
Batting first, India scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Indian opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed without scoring a run in the first over by Salman Agha.
The second bowler to be dismissed for Hart was Ishan Kishan, who was bowled by Saim Ayub for 77 off 40 balls.
In the 15th over, Tilak Verma was dismissed by Saim Ayub for 25 on a total of 126. Hardik Pandya fell to Saim Ayub for no runs on the very next ball.
India's fifth wicket against Pakistan fell for 159 runs when Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed by Usman Tariq for 32 runs. Apart from them, Dube scored 27 while Akshar Patel was dismissed without scoring any runs.
For Pakistan, Saim Ayub took 3 wickets while Usman Tariq took one wicket for 24 runs in 4 overs. Shaheen Afridi and Salman Agha also took one wicket each, one player was run out.
In response to India's target of 176 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 114 runs in 18 overs.
Usman Khan top-scored for Pakistan with 44 runs. Shadab Khan scored 14 and Faheem Ashraf scored 10 runs.
Hardik Pandya, Warne Chakraborty, Jasprit Bumrah and Ahat Patel took two wickets each for India, while Tilak Verma and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
No changes were made to the Pakistan team today. Pakistan's playing XI included Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq.
Two changes were made to the Indian team. Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav were included in the playing XI.
