Faheem Ashraf, the all-rounder of the Islamabad United team in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League, called this tournament a ‘game-changer platform’ not only for Pakistan but also for young cricketers around the world.
Faheem Ashraf spoke in detail about his team’s current performance, Islamabad United’s strong culture, the quality of the PSL and the future of young players.
Faheem Ashraf admitted that Islamabad United’s current performance has not been entirely ideal, but the team is still hopeful for a strong position. The team missed some important opportunities, which cost them on the points table.
He said that if we look at our team, we are both satisfied and not, we were washed out in one match and we lost two matches that we should not have lost, but if you lose, at least lose by a margin so that you can learn from your mistakes.
He added that the team's main goal now is to make it to the top four and then, if given the opportunity, they will try their best to make it to the top two.
Describing PSL as a turning point in his life and career, Faheem Ashraf said that this league provides recognition to players worldwide.
Talking about the atmosphere of Islamabad United, Faheem Ashraf added that the team's biggest strength is its positive culture and strong core system. He always prioritizes team victory over personal records or being the top performer. My only goal is to make my team win. If I can play even a small role, that is my success.
