Pakistan's batting fails again, England beat them by an innings and 103 runs
And then what was feared happened... Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat in the first match of the Test series against England in Leeds.
In the second innings, the Pakistani team failed to end England's first innings lead and was bundled out for just 131 runs.
Pakistan's weak batting line-up was dismissed in just 37.3 overs. This was the best start to Joe Root's second period as England's Test captain as his team defeated Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs.
In the second innings too, the visiting team did not start well and, like the first innings, their first wicket fell for nil.
The batsman who was dismissed was Imam-ul-Haq, who was caught by the wicketkeeper on the fifth ball of the first over of the second innings and returned to the pavilion.
