Razaullah becomes the Pakistani batter to score the fastest half-century on Test debut
Fast bowler Razaullah, making his debut in the Birmingham Test, saved Pakistan from an innings defeat with his brilliant batting and set several records in the process.
Coming in to bat at number nine during the second innings against England, Razaullah played a magnificent knock of 81 runs off 63 balls, helping Pakistan secure a lead of 130 runs.
By hitting nine sixes in this innings, Razaullah equaled the world record for the most sixes hit on debut, while Mohammad Abbas hit two sixes during his own innings of 42 runs.
For the first time in Test cricket history, batters from positions 9 through 11 collectively hit ten sixes against fast bowlers.
Razaullah completed his half-century off 43 balls against England, becoming the Pakistani batter to score the fastest fifty on Test debut; previously, Faheem Ashraf had scored 50 runs off 52 balls on his debut in 2018.
Additionally, Razaullah is the first Pakistani batter in the last 15 years to hit eight sixes against fast bowlers in a single innings.
In the Birmingham Test, Razaullah scored 11 runs in the first innings and 81 in the second against England, thereby becoming the highest run-scorer on debut against England.
It is worth noting that the Pakistani team was bowled out for 449 runs in the second innings of the Birmingham Test, leaving England requiring 130 runs to win the match. The host team holds an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match Test series.
